I love my microwave oven, although I mostly use it to heat up leftovers and to steam frozen vegetables (talk about easy - just take the containers right form the freezer to the microwave and the veggies steam themselves). And my kids love fiber-rich reduced fat microwave popcorn. It's difficult for me to imagine my kitchen without a microwave oven.

But, I think like most people, I've tried to use my microwave to cook full meals and been completely disappointed in the results. Meats end up with a weird texture and a creepy color and I usually find hot spots and undercooked spots in most foods. Yuck!

There is hope for me (and you too, if your experience with microwave cooking is like mine). You can cook meals in your microwave - you just need to know a few tips and tricks:
